Chapter 178: The truth

As that slap echoed, Theron’s mother realized what she had done.

"I am sorry... Please, I am sorry. I didn’t really want to slap you. I just did because you said Orian had already found someone he loves. I lost my temper. Sorry, I am really sorry."

Everyone was shocked, but no one said anything. But seeing that, Orian understood he couldn’t stay silent anymore. Even if he got a slap for talking, he was willing to take it.

Just then—

"Babe... I was worried about you, that’s why I came in."

Just from hearing that voice, Orian knew whose voice it was. So he quickly glanced at the entrance—Meyer was walking inside, even coming further in than Dad.

And as he reached Orian, he quickly wrapped his arms around Orian’s waist.

Theron’s mom was already regretting that she had raised her hand against her son, but when she saw Meyer and Orian together, she got even more angry. Their dad also came and stood beside the mom.

"Orian, get away from that alpha... How can you let someone else touch you like this when you’re already my son’s mate?!"

Meyer didn’t like hearing Theron’s mom’s words, and he wasn’t going to leave Orian.

That meant he would have to tell her, but Orian knew that if Meyer said something now, it would just make things even more difficult for them. So it would be better if all the truth got exposed now.

Orian grabbed Meyer’s hand and pushed him away slightly, then glanced at the mother.

"Ma’am, I’m really grateful that you raised me all these years. Thank you so much for that. It’s something I can’t ever repay, no matter what I do."

"Orian, you can pay me back—just be my son’s mate, always. Why are you suddenly meeting other alphas behind my back? And now that alpha is here for you?"

Orian glanced at Meyer. As usual, Meyer was wearing his ancient-style clothes, and his long hair was tied in a ponytail on his head.

Meyer looked extremely handsome in Orian’s eyes. Orian turned back to the mother with a determined face.

"Let me tell you the truth. I’m from the Ironclaw Pack, which is your enemy pack. And those sons of yours, the ones you want me to mate with—I don’t think that would be possible. Not because of Meyer..."

"Because of my brother, Silas."

Everyone except Theron and Meyer widened their eyes.

Mom and Dad were confused—who was Orian’s brother? But the three brothers were even more shocked when they heard Silas’s name.

"Wait, Orian, did you say Silas is your brother... are we talking about the same Silas, or is it just someone with the same name?" Lysander asked.

"Lysander, we’re talking about the same person. Silas is my twin brother. And after knowing what you did to my brother, do you really think I want to see any of your faces right now? I disgust all of you—especially Kael, because he crossed all the lines. I don’t know why you hate my brother the most, but I hate you even more than that."

Mother, who was listening to all this, couldn’t understand what they meant or what they were talking about. So she asked,

"Orian, are you saying...?"

Suddenly, Meyer stopped Orian and started explaining everything to their mother.

He first explained that Orian and Silas are twin brothers.

Silas is the one whose drama had recently been released—the same one she had seen and thought she had seen him somewhere before, but didn’t know where.

After that, Meyer explained that he was offered money to kill Orian—and that he was the one who kidnapped him.

As Meyer said that, Theron stepped forward and explained how they had been searching for Orian, about Silas getting the phone call, and everything else.

When she heard the full truth, her face darkened as she looked at Kael.

"Kael, is this how I raised you?!"

Kael looked down again without saying anything. But their mother was very angry.

In the end, it was her eyes that looked down—after learning what her so-called sons had done.

She was about to fall, but Dad moved faster than the wind and caught her.

"Are you okay, honey?" he asked.

"I don’t think so. Because my son couldn’t have done something like this—harming an omega who had a little kid... Did I end up raising him the wrong way?"

"No, honey. You didn’t raise him the wrong way—it’s him who took the wrong path. It’s not our mistake. We can’t stop our children from making mistakes. Just let them learn from them. Don’t stress yourself."

After hearing those words, their mom calmed down. But all of a sudden, Kael left without looking back.

And no one stopped him either. They let him go. Their mom sat on the sofa, and Dad did too.

Five minutes later, Silas also stepped inside the mansion for Orian—because he thought too much time had passed, and now Meyer still wasn’t coming out.

That meant they weren’t letting Orian go at all.

That’s why he came himself—to take his brother out of there.

Even though he didn’t want to see those three brothers at all, he still came—for Orian and for Theron too. He had already seen Kael leaving earlier.

But as soon as Damon and Lysander saw Silas, they were shocked—and happy too—that Silas was safe and sound.

They both took a step toward him and were about to reach him, but before that, Theron quickly went to Silas.

"Silas, are you okay?" Theron asked, standing before Silas like he would protect him if anyone said anything.

Velric was holding Silas’s hand, standing quietly there, because Silas had told him before coming not to say anything or call those three brothers "papa" or "daddy." Velric nodded, and he was doing exactly what he had been told.

And he wasn’t saying a word—just staring at Damon and Lysander, because he still remembered how those six men came to kill Silas, and how scared he was at that moment.
