Reincarnated as the Elder's son: My Infinite Shop Points System-Chapter 32: Mana corruption.
Chapter 32: Mana corruption.
"Marry you? Where is that coming from? Are you sure you’re alright?" Jared uttered, like a snake playing with its prey.
Feeling even more embarrassed, Kiara stormed forward, grabbed him by the arm, and pulled herself closer.
Though her face was beet red, she managed to cover it up with her determination.
"I don’t know what in the hell you put in that kiss, Lord Jared... But you are going to take responsibility for it..."
Staring at her, Jared couldn’t help but hold back his laugh.
The only reason he kissed her to begin with was to throw her off her game, make her see she wasn’t the only one who could mess with him and get away with it.
Asserting his dominance in a way.
But this reaction...was far from what he was expecting.
"Cute," he blurted out, making sure Kiara heard it.
She flinched a bit, her gaze now on the ground.
But before she could say anything, Lucy showed up, positioning herself in their middle.
"Sorry to interrupt. But ... Could you please do this some other time...the others are trying to work..." she voiced out, a painful smile glued to her face.
"Lucy..." Kiara released her grip and took a few steps back. freewёbnoνel.com
"We are done for today. The pipes have already been connected. All we have to do is come back tomorrow and see if the water has already found its way out," said Jared before raising the shovel and resting it on his shoulder.
"I’ll inform the others. Lord Jared, you should go rest, I’ll take you to your room first."
"Eh? I still need to..."
Before Jared could complete his words, Lucy grabbed him by the hand and dragged him along with her.
Kiara, almost instantly, bent down and covered her flushed face.
Every bit of what she said to Jared came back to her. It was as if the ground should swallow her before she died from her own embarrassment.
Still...
Jared was different, and she could tell.
"There’s something seriously wrong with me," Kiara whispered to herself.
The next day, Jared had already made his way to the farm.
As he had expected, most of the water that was there had already flowed through the pipes and out towards the watering hole. The soil was now damp with signs of dead parasites on the surface.
Jared took a second to grab the sand, and it was indeed better than before. But regardless, it was still dead soil, and nothing would grow on something like this.
’I’ve drained the excess water from the soil, the soil lacks nutrients which can be easily fixed, but the main issue here is the corrupt mana that has taken root in the ground.’
Jared thought to himself.
’Unlike when I could just buy whatever I need from the system, the situation is different, I don’t think I have the ability to just suck out mana from the ground. Unless...’
He clicked the space in front of him.
[Shop has been opened.]
’Perhaps I don’t need abilities, I just need an item with the ability.’
He scrolled through the list of items for a while, until one particular item caught his eye.
[Mana rod (900sp): Use this to measure the amount of mana in a particular substance.]
[Mana extraction rod (950 sp): Use this to extract and release mana from substances.]
’Bingo...’
He was about to rejoice...
"Wait a minute, been meaning to ask this, but, there are unlimited items in the shop, correct?"
[Negative.]
"Then how come I always get exactly what I need, when I need them?"
[The goddess of trade hides her face suspiciously.]
[The god of Loyalty wonders the same thing.]
The system replied...
[You have luck.]
’If you want to lie, at least don’t make it this obvious.’
Sigh!
"Purchase."
[Purchase successful.]
[1850 has been deducted from your account.]
[Mana rod and Mana extraction rod are now in your inventory.]
Hearing the announcement, Jared found a stone nearby, one that was large enough for him to sit down on.
Settling on the stone, he reached inside his inventory and pulled out the first item he bought.
[Mana rod.]
It was a long staff with two pointed metal ends at the side.
Since Jared had mana within him, the rod glowed light red, barely visible, which showed how weak his mana level was.
’Oh? So it works upon contact...’
Following his intuition, Jared shoved the bottom of the metal staff into the ground.
Almost immediately, the Mana rod reacted, glowing so brightly it felt like a red sun had settled on the land. After a while, it turned black, but still bright.
"I don’t know if I should be impressed magic beasts haven’t spawned here, or worried. How can a land have this much mana inside it?"
[The god of Loyalty asks the same question.]
’In any case, absorbing the mana with the Mana extraction rod shouldn’t be an issue, where to place it is the issue, just leaving it lying on the ground can be dangerous, the mana could find a way to move itself... What if I...’
It was then Jared picked up on William, who had just woken up and was heading towards his usual morning patrol.
An aspect lit up in his head.
Moments later, William was beside Jared, watching as he placed a small-looking orb on the ground that seemed to be changing colors every second.
"Lord Jared, I still don’t understand what you said I need to do. Throw away the trash?" William asked.
Jared, bent with his hand over the orb to keep it in place, responded -
"You have the ability of super strength ever since you attained the five-star rank. You could carry a hundred people and not feel a thing..."
"I don’t understand ..."
Jared now looked at him, a smile on his face...
"What I’m trying to say is, I have never depended on someone as much as I do you. You are an amazing person."
William’s eyes lit up, almost blushing.
"I... your praise is too much, my Lord."
[William feels happy about your comment.]
"Good, I’m glad you do."
Now Jared stood up, handing the orb that was now glowing a black hue over to William.
"Use that strength to throw it towards the south, as far as you can."
