Reincarnated as the Elder's son: My Infinite Shop Points System-Chapter 39: Cubic Zirconia
Chapter 39: Cubic Zirconia
[300 sp has been added to your account.]
Jared paused.
’300 sp for 3 bronze eres? I expected higher, but at the same time, I can’t really say it’s all bad.’
He rubbed his chin a bit. ’If 3 bronze is 300 sp, then 3 silver should be 30, and then gold should be around 3000, or maybe even higher.’
Thinking for a while, he turned his attention back to the items he initially checked on the system.
’Looking at the exchanges, if I were to sell any product I wish to buy from the system, it has to be above silver and nothing less.’
It was then an idea popped up in his head.
Cubic Zirconia.
Also known as the carbon copy of diamonds, a fake. Yet, people from his former world buy it a lot.
Though it was indeed a fake diamond, it looked identical to it, nearly perfectly. So much so that it became hard to tell the difference between the two without using a diamond tester.
But when compared to a world where diamonds never existed in the first place... It was the perfect item to sell.
[Cubic Zirconia gems (50 sp): A synthetic gemstone made from zirconium dioxide. Identical to diamonds.]
’Wow...cheap.’
Jared didn’t waste any time before he bought it.
[You purchased 50 Cubic Zirconia gems.]
[2500 sp has been deducted.]
Instantly, the items Jared had bought appeared on the ground in front of him, inside a small brown bag.
Just as the system had described, the CZ looked a lot like diamonds, making it difficult to tell the difference.
They both reflected light in such a way that it brought out their beauty.
Inside the sack before Jared were 50 small Cubic Zirconia gems, each one shining against one another.
’Now...I just have to think of a reasonable price to sell these fake diamonds,’ Jared thought to himself.
[The goddess of trade recommends selling it for 1 gold eres.]
[The god of loyalty advises selling them for 25 bronze eres.]
[The rest of the gods have no say in the matter.]
Jared suddenly stood up from where he was seated and began to stretch.
’I shouldn’t really bother myself about this; I’m sure I’ll think of something eventually. Besides, Olsen and the merchant won’t be here for another one week. So I’ll just keep investing in the fake diamonds till then. For now...I have another issue to take care of.’
The next day*
Jared appeared in the village’s general kitchen.
"They are all spoilt, my lord."
The grandma said, pointing at the pile of dead meat they had set to the side.
Lucy, who was standing behind Jared, took the liberty to observe the meat from a closer range, making the maggots and parasites that had infested the meat a bit clearer.
"She’s right, Lord Jared, the meat really isn’t good; they’ve all gone bad." Lucy looked at Jared, who was just standing there in deep thought.
At first, he was thinking of a solution to the issue. While it was obvious what was needed was preservation, the problem was how he was going to go about it.
At the end of the day, he was only just an author in his former world; building complicated things isn’t really his forte.
Jared thought of purchasing a freezer from the system, but then again, that would need electricity to power. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Unless...
Jared voiced out...
"I’ll be in my room for the day; no one should disturb me." He turned around to exit the kitchen.
"Lord Jared?" Lucy stood up, about to follow behind him.
"No, you and Kiara should gather people to go hunting again; we need to restock on our food. Since William and Ria are still working on the farm, you will have to take on this task."
He walked away right after.
"The young Lord really is hard to understand, isn’t he?" smiled the old woman.
Lucy sighed almost instantly.
"You have no idea. I won’t be surprised if he comes up with an idea before tomorrow. Honestly, I just wish he would let us help out a bit." Lucy turned around, then placed one hand on her waist.
"Thank you, Grandma Stan, for showing us this. I’ll gather the others so we can hunt for new meat."
"Be careful..."
"Sure will..."
Later that day, Lucy did as she was ordered.
She gathered Kiara and three other people for hunting.
Most of the hunting they do is usually outside Sikone land and towards the dry land. It wasn’t far from the village, but it was also a public space for hunting.
Or rather, it became a public place.
Initially, it used to belong to the people of Sikone village, but after some time, other villages began to claim the land as their own.
And since Sikone were nowhere as strong to fight back, they had no choice but to step back and watch it turn into a public hunting ground.
The hunting ground was big, having trees surrounding it with grass as green as the trees around them.
Hills ran rampant, and most importantly, dungeons.
Due to the huge amount of monsters that roamed the land, some had already adapted to living in magically adapted caves, large and big enough to house multiple monsters at the same time.
Though it was twice as dangerous, so not many people dared to enter one. Instead, they hunt in open spaces.
Lucy and the rest were no exception to the rule.
Hiding in the bushes on the hill, they had their eyes locked on their prey.
A herd of buffaloes.
These animals were known to be extremely powerful, having skins sometimes as hard as stones. But that held no power over people who were desperate to have them for dinner.
"Do you see them? Be careful not to miss your shot, or we could have them running at us," whispered Lucy, who was lying next to Kiara.
The rest had surrounded the monsters, acting as backup if anything were to happen.
Kiara was focused, aiming the sniper at the buffaloes.
