Reincarnated as the Elder's son: My Infinite Shop Points System-Chapter 55: Gate of ancient weapons
Chapter 55: Gate of ancient weapons
Bang!
Kiara pulled the trigger just when the guard had gotten so close to her.
True, before they even set out on the mission, the sniper went through some upgrades after Jared noticed Kiara was beginning to like it.
But the only modification Jared added was the teleportation crystal that Kiara had just recently used. He figured carrying it around would be stressful, as so he came up with a solution.
That was all.
Which meant even if Kiara killed the target before her, the speed at which she carried the sniper and aimed would undoubtedly deliver some damage to her shoulder.
As the sniper shot connected with the guard’s head, everyone who was on the attack suddenly stopped moving.
Their gaze fixed on one particular place— hitched with fear, fear of the unknown.
The victim who got shot was lying on the ground, his head blown off to nothingness, blood and brains scattered all over the place.
At the same time, Kiara fell to the ground, the sniper slipping from her grasp.
As she stayed on the ground, she could tell her collarbone had snapped.
The force from the sniper was too much; normally, she could endure it and avoid getting injured. But this time was different; her whole body lost control.
It was either she pulled the trigger during that exact moment, or the guard would stab her with the spear.
Kiara grabbed her left arm, ignoring the pain with a frown on her face as she turned around to look at Lucy.
Lucy knew she was injured; that was why she hesitated to act. But after seeing the look on Kiara’s face, she immediately had a change of mind.
The plan was to wait and see if the other guards would react to one of their own dying in such a manner.
Seeing as they hadn’t attacked and were just standing there in shock, it was safe to say it was working.
That said, the moment they snapped out of it, they’d come rushing in like angry animals to have their revenge.
Before then—
Whoosh!
A single step was all it took, and Lucy had positioned herself behind Ulena, and then she activated the skill—Gate of Ancient Weapons.
Just as the name says, the skill was a very powerful one, one that allowed Lucy to have access to the ancient weapons that had existed in the world.
Multiple small sized portals began to pop out in the middle of nowhere, all surrounding both her and Ulena.
The portals were more of a pocket dimension meant to store the ancient weapons residing within them.
So much so, that it became painfully obvious that the portals were releasing so much mana, mana that no one in the cave could ever hope to have .
From within these portals were different weapons sticking out, their blade glittering and aimed at only Ulena.
"Try to move, I dare you. I’ll have my weapons through your guts before you can even finish that thought. Now, call your men off." Lucy made sure her words were clear, her fingers grabbing Ulena’s throat.
Fear could now be seen dancing in the cat woman’s eyes, the glowing light from the portals all reflecting on her face.
"H...how is someone like you... a Six Star?" She couldn’t believe it.
For as long as she had known Sikone village, not once had she been impressed by their strength. Sure, they were productive with their survival, but they were still weak, probably the weakest in all the northern region.
No wonder others preyed on them.
But somehow... these weak people managed to get their hands on a Six Star rank?
"...A...are you their leader?" she asked again, despite remembering Lucy referring to someone as ’My lord.’
Lucy pulled her lips closer.
"I am not entertaining your curiosity. Call your men off... if you still value their lives and yours."
Ulena, suddenly calm and collected, did as she was told.
She knew there was no use fighting it. Though that wasn’t her only reason.
"Stand down. Do not harm our guests."
Her words reached every corner of the cave, even to the backup guards that had rushed into the room.
"...My lady..."
They were all still paralyzed from the death they witnessed; sure enough, they were also angry, but their lady telling them to back off when they clearly outnumbered the enemy meant they had no way of winning.
If they acted, they would all be dead.
Thus, they obeyed and moved away from Kiara.
"I did as you asked. Now can we speak like reasonable people? I am not foolish enough to attack you; even if I did, your friend over there would attack me with that mysterious power, so I would not risk it."
"I’m not too worried."
Lucy released her hold and began to walk toward Kiara.
Once she was there, she knelt on the ground, one hand on Kiara’s shoulder.
"I told you shooting the sniper was a bad idea."
"Yeah, well, it got the job done, didn’t it?" Kiara smiled a bit, finding it hard to hide the pain she was feeling.
"Please, just stay still."
Now resting her hand on Kiara’s busted shoulder, she reached into her portal and pulled out a book.
The blue light from the book drew the attention of everyone in the cave. Ulena was no exception.
As pages from the book fluttered open, mana danced in the air, forming into magic strings that wrapped themselves around Kiara’s body.
This particular artifact was known as the Book of Arizona. A powerful artifact owned by the elf king a long time ago, it was said to have the power to heal over a thousand men during the great war.
Though the book was destroyed after the death of the elf king, so no one could abuse its power or use it for their own gain.
Yet somehow...
"Impossible..." Ulena, who had heard stories about the book from her father, could not help but stand there frozen in shock.
Once the strings returned to the book, the book shattered into tiny particles, and Kiara’s shoulder was healed.
"For real? I didn’t know you had the power to heal." Kiara was somewhat surprised, but at the time, she knew it was because of the upgrade she got from Lord Jared.
Had Lucy left her so far behind that even something like this was beyond her imagination?
Standing to her feet, Lucy looked at Ulena.
"Now then... I believe you’ll be coming with me, leader of the cat tribe."
