Chapter 1318: The Real Goal II

Garrof, Lloyd, and the others who already knew Lory’s identity didn’t look as overwhelmed as Hugo, Lilly, and Ethan. Lory then takes a seat on the chair and begins to speak "First of all, I would like to apologize to all of you, Hugo - Lilly for hiding my identity even though you trusted me and even invited me to your home, I lied to you, but I hope you understand that I did it with utmost consideration for your safety and the truth is, I’ve been gone for quite a while... so when I came back, it took me quite a while to understand the situation..."

Lory didn’t want to explain where she was going or tell about the existence of the other world, because she would have to explain about Lazarus, Arthea, the First King, and everything that would be too much for them. There are some things that are better kept hidden especially if it doesn’t have any benefit to your life.

"Gone?" Lilly looked at Lory with a questioning look, she wasn’t sure what that meant, what Lory meant about ’away’ was it other countries, but that did not make sense.

"That’s a story for another time because today there is something more important that I want to talk to all of you about," Lory said with a solemn look and everyone’s attitude immediately changed to become more serious.

"Don’t apologize, Your Highness. You are my family’s savior. Without you, I don’t think my family would have been able to get out of this predicament. Therefore, we are all grateful for your help. Therefore, the Hamilton family will support whatever plan you have," Hugo’s voice was filled with strong determination.

Hugo would be a fool if he didn’t support Lory, regardless Lory was his family benefactor and he would try his best to help her, but after knowing her real identity Hugo would not let go of this one lifetime opportunity to fight side by side with Princess Lorient.

"Alright, first of all, I would like to thank you all for your trust despite not knowing my identity before and also everyone present in this room, I sincerely thank you all." Lory placed her palms on her chest and slowly bowed her head.

Her sincerity moved everyone in the room, they looked at each other awkwardly and then smiled sheepishly. They never dreamed that one day Princess Lorient would bow her head and thank them with so much sincerity.

Zhao Li Xin watched Lory with glittering eyes. it’s amazing how a simple gesture could make her win the loyalty of everyone in this room, even though she was the one who lowered her head however, her kingly aura was able to dominate everyone in the room even a cunning old fox-like Hugo Hamilton couldn’t match her.

’Ah, what should I do? I fell in love again’ Zhao Lixin rested his head on his fists as he stared at Lory with passionate eyes.

’Danger!’ Lory suddenly felt goosebumps. She had no idea what happened, everyone seemed alright, Lory rubbed her neck thinking that she probably still needed a rest.

"Alright, let’s begin!" Lory clapped her hands and then turned to Hadius who had been standing at the back for a long time.

"Mr. Alvetted, did you receive all the information I sent you? I also brought a USB, is it safe, do you have it?" Lory wasn’t sure the USB she got with her survived all the fight and explosion.

Hadius stepped towards Lory and bowed politely, "I have it, Your Highness, including your USB, though it was slightly damaged Mr. Thornberry managed to recover all the data and we have checked the contents with Mr. Thorberry and Mr. Equillan."

Lory gives a praising look at Jay and then continues, "Alright, let’s share it with everyone."

"As you wish, Your Highness." Hadius took a small tablet and placed it on the coffee table in the middle of the room. He tapped a button and then the entire document appeared in the air and Hadius slid the document to the wall and enlarged it for everyone to see.

Lory started, "Okay, I just retrieved information about a secret project called Project Resurgence, it’s about something called ’the seed of life that is said to be the source of Bael’s power"

Garrof scratched his jaw and muttered, "Is that the same rock with the strange symbols we found inside Maren’s body? is it perhaps has something to do with the seed of life?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact, that thing was the Seed of life" Hadius answered in a mild tone on the contrary his words shocked everyone in the room.

Hadius then explained further "According to the information we have, it is said that once Bael dies, the seeds accumulated in his heart will become hard as stone when they come into contact with air and a symbol will appear to indicate its source, like a fingerprint."

"That’s convenient" Lory murmurs.

"Well, every spell has traces to its source, this might be the same," Clift uttered.

"Serena has seen this symbol before, and she has been researching this symbol long before the Dark Ages war at the request of Samuel Albrecht, unfortunately, she did not follow up on it because our world was being destroyed" Garrof states matter-of-factly.

"That reasonable" Ethan nods his head.

"Wait a minute, isn’t that the name of the late commander of the Black Fang? I think he and his entire family died while they were on vacation," Clift recalled as he used to pay close attention to all of Luxemborough’s military elites.

"True, but he’s not dead," Lory wiggled her index finger. "He and his daughter are alive and well, and guess what, they’re being hunted by Dragxtarn, can you imagine, a Dragxtarn hunted by the other Dragxtarn." Lory smiled mischievously, implying there was a conspiracy there.

"What is it?" Lory’s eyes lit up with interest.

"Nothing much, after the Dark Age war ended, I got information from one of the Noxcra agent that Dragxtarn was looking for someone and they didn’t hesitate to spend a lot of their resources to get the target, but I can’t reveal who the target is, perhaps it was him..."

"He knew something..." Jay smirked.

"Yes, and they sent Dragxtarn, meaning they don’t want to capture him but instead killed him" Clift’s curiosity piqued tremendously.

" Okay, set that aside" Lory stopped the discussion about Albrecht and focused on their main problem "Back to the seed of life, it said the source of the seed of life is from a progenitor called Zalchana, Hadius can we let everyone see it" Lory asked the Hadius to show the other document.

Another document appears and Hadius highlights the Zalchana name for everyone to see.

"So it gives regenerative ability to beast but humans need the Zalchana blood to consume the seed of life and they need to take it every month..." Lloyd pondered.

"So it gives Beast regenerative abilities, but humans will need Zalchana’s blood to consume every month..." Garrof thought it wasn’t efficient, what would happen if they didn’t consume it, losing their power?

"That depends because according to the information, this is still the early stage of the life seed," Ethan said then he swiped the screen and showed it to everyone "You can see here according to what is written here because Zalchana’s body is still weak so it affects the quality of the life seed, so who knows what kind of power it can give if they manage to fix Zalchana’s condition"

"Also I want to tell you something very important" Lory paused for a moment then her gaze turned to Lydia who was listening.

"Lydia, this concerns your friend Marissa’s situation, I hope you are prepared because what you are about to hear is very bad"

Lydia’s face turned pale, she clasped her hands together to brace herself.

Owen patted Lydia’s back to comfort her, the next second Lydia gave a firm nod "I’m ready!"

"Okay" Lory took a deep breath "I found another project that Aeon is working on, they call it the genesis project" Lory swiped her hand on the tablet and then the screen changed to another document.

"They got two projects at the same time" Jay frowned then sneered coldly "They’re very busy, aren’t they?!"

"It’s another seed?" Owen was perplexed, this became too much for his head.

"I’m not sure, we aren’t even sure if the term seed itself describes for actual seed or something else and we don’t know what kind of creature Zalchana is," Ethan crossed his arms on his chest.

"Apart from the documents showing the difference in value between the seeds they used for Beasts and human consumption with the thing called Scion, since you read it yourself, they wanted to revive the scion using healing powers which means it’s a living being. However they failed, that shows us that things might be dead or unconscious...." Lory shrugs in uncertainty then she continues "...They also talked about taking a big risk, I don’t know what that means but according to them it’s a very dangerous action and they were...desperate" Lory’s brows furrowed as she tries to decipher what the enemy intention.

Lydia was stupefied when she further read the information, her trembling index finger pointing at the document "It said...It said they have sacrificed many healers to revive the Scion... it that mean" Lydia swallowed the next word and then looked at Lory with pleading eyes for Lory saying she was wrong.

Lory was silent, she looked at Lydia with a look full of regret, Lydia immediately understood what Lory meant and a second later she burst into tears.

Owen hugged Lydia as he tried to comfort her. The whole room became quiet, though some of them didn’t know what was going on but they guessed that one of the healers was someone very important to Lydia and they felt sorry for her.

"Your Highness, are you sure about this? I don’t mean to doubt you, but—" Even though the chances were slim, Owen hoped for Lydia’s sake Lory was wrong

Lory understands Owen’s feelings, she actually hopes she is wrong as well but all the information leads there, "Aeon has asked the S.A.I.N.T organization to speed up the ’harvest’ although I’m not sure what the harvest means, but knowing that the organization often sends a group of healers every few periods to a place without any news plus what we know about what Aeon did to those healers also Aeon’s connection to the S.A.I.N.T organization, and Ethan also said that in the place where he was held he heard some other prisoners claiming they were healers from the S.A.I.N.T organization, so if we connect all the dots...we can all come to the same conclusion, right?"Lory said with a heavy heart.

"I’m afraid they didn’t use the healers just for that..." Jay hated to be the bearer of bad news, not like the situation was already bad enough, though.

"What do you mean?" Lory’s expression tightens.

Jay’s words must have caught everyone’s attention, Clift then opened his hands and said: "It’s okay, we are facing the same enemy and we also owe them for protecting Her Highness all this time so why not share the information we got, we might need their help" Clift had already made calculations in his mind.

With their current situation, it was only right that they were low-key because the reason the enemy dared to act so brazenly was because they thought Lucas as the last Lucient was in a dire state and it was natural for the enemy to think that the Archknight would not have time to pay attention to their business since they were busy saving their King, well, they were right but Lory was back.

If they knew that Lory had returned and the Archknight had targeted them, the situation might get out of control, who knows what the enemy would do. Therefore, he had to keep the enemy oblivious to them.

"Well..." "Okay..." Jay glanced at everyone in the room before he began, "Do you hear a story from a man named Alfred Hubert, he released his story on the web news about his daughter, Jessi Hubert who went missing on a mission held by the S.A.I.N.T. organization and here’s the kick, his daughter was one of the healers from the S.A.I.N.T. organization"

"A healer again?" Lydia’s whole face was etched with shock and horror.

Clift then continued "Mr. Hubert said his daughter was sent to the Black Hill’s town which was said to be plagued by a strange disease, but after that, Mr. Hubert lost contact with his daughter"

"Why didn’t anyone look for her?" Lory was perplexed.

"Because a week after Hubert lost contact with his daughter Nazareth, came out of it cage," Clift’s voice deepened.

Jay then speaks in a heavy tone "And guess where the Black Hill’s town is..."

Everyone subconsciously held their breath and the atmosphere in the room suddenly became heavy.

The corner of Jay’s lips curved into a wry smile "Just a few miles from Mount Fehrer, and we know what’s inside Mount Fehrer" Darkness gathered in his eyes.

Lory took a deep breath "Nazareth’s cage"
