Transmigrating to Modern Earth from the Future-Chapter 46: Blue moss
Chapter 46: Blue moss
As Lumen awoke from his slumber, he did his usual morning stretches and had never felt better.
Once again, Lumen found himself in the familiar environment of the barren, dark cave with the occasional glowing blue moss here and there. He had long gotten accustomed to this sight after spending so long in the dungeon, which only made him wonder how much longer he would have to spend in there.
As he had just awoken, he prepared himself to set out once again to go on a mindless slaughter of the rabid wolves again. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
With him being level 13 now, he felt that he could take on much higher level beasts, as long as they weren’t an Elite like the wolf he had barely managed to kill the previous day.
Although he wouldn’t complain about coming across another one of the same level as now he knew their weakness, and the experience gained was very bountiful, enough to give him a double level up even.
By the time he had stopped to take a break and observe his surroundings, 7 hours had passed on the tutorial panel.
He thought about what his plans for the upcoming battle with the boss of the dungeon would be, as he honestly had no clue how strong the thing would be, and after struggling so much against only a level 12 Elite he had little confidence in killing something even stronger in his current state.
As he was observing his surroundings, he noticed a more concentrated spot of blue glowing moss and through sheer curiosity and boredom he went over to check it out.
He got to the concentrated mossy area and decided to take a look about. It seemed rather unassuming like most of the other areas of the cave he had explored but for some reason he had some sort of special feeling about this area. He couldn’t quite put his finger on what was special about this place.
He was about to call it quits with this area when he noticed out of the corner of his eye an empty space on the wall behind the blue moss, and when he cleared the moss away he was greeted with another, hidden cave entrance.
’So this is what gave me that special feeling! Though I don’t have a good feeling about this.’
While walking inside, he quickly found himself in complete darkness after barely fitting his body through the gap and making his way through. He couldn’t tell because of the darkness, but he felt like he was going even further underground by walking through this cave.
He walked and walked, but he found no wolves or enemies of any kind. All he saw was dark, damp cave. He was now caped in complete darkness as not a single mote of light made its way into Lumen’s eyes and his foreboding feeling kept getting heavier and heavier.
The only thing he could tell was that he was walking in a circle, while still heading downwards.
Lumen was beginning to think of turning back as the feeling he was getting from this place was not a good one.
But his brain kept on telling him to continue on downwards. This place was quite unique as it was hidden off from the rest of the place. And if he knew one thing from learning the ins and outs of the tutorial, was that unique places often contain something equally unique and interesting.
’No risk, no reward.’ Is what he kept telling himself the more he walked.
After another 10 minutes, he had descended quite a bit and was thinking that this whole dungeon was quite boring when he wasn’t fighting wolves.
However, mid thought he suddenly lost all of his senses and felt as if was trapped in a dark space, void of everything.
But before the feeling settled, he felt his senses come back to him.
When he opened his eyes again out of reflex, and he was surprised to actually see light all around him.
He found himself in a giant hall of sorts. All he could see all around him was the ruins of what would have been a grand and spectacular temple as the ground was scattered with shattered stones and broken pillars as far as the eye could see.
The only things still intact being countless shining braziers dotted all about the ceiling, as this was the only place untouched by what had caused this destruction.
However before he could take in the magical sight surrounding him, he was shocked to find he was missing something. A lot of somethings actually.
He noticed that his spear, armour and his Ring of Darden were all missing and he couldn’t access his inventory.
He panicked a little at first as he also couldn’t use any of his magic skills, and he was worried how he would defend himself if a formidable enemy like the Elite wolf came along whole he was in this state. He really hoped they weren’t gone for good...
Shifting his attention back to the hall, he began looking for a direction to go. With the most obvious answer being whatever remained of the only door in sight being his go to choice.
Walking through it, he was greeted by a long hallway in the same dilapidated state as the hall behind him. It was long and tall, filled with the same braziers that lit the hall.
On the other side of the hallway, he found himself wandering into another hall identical to the one he had just exited.
The only difference being was that this one looked to be intact, with the fine marble pillars standing upright and no stones left shattered in random places.
Casually strolling through the room, he suddenly got a sense of impending doom as he dodged as quickly as he could into the nearby hallway he had just exited.
Right where he was just standing, a long black spike made of an unknown material was penetrated into the solid marble ground like it was soft sand.
Adding the cherry on top of the danger of the hall, the black spike proceeded to start buzzing and without warning exploded.
’Clearly this place doesn’t want me here, it must be hiding something valuable for it to have such strong defenses...’
