Transmigrating to Modern Earth from the Future-Chapter 51: Hunting packs of wolves
Chapter 51: Hunting packs of wolves
Lumen was worried that he would have to go back through all of the previous trials once again if he wanted to go back to the caves. However fortunately for him the system seemed to actually be benevolent for once, as a prompt appeared in front of him as soon as he stashed the spear in his inventory.
[Hidden treasure cave will disappear in 60 seconds, teleportation has begun.]
Lumen didn’t even have time to even properly read the message as the teleportation was instant. One moment he was still in that small room with the now empty bookshelves being the only furniture, then he blinked and the next moment he was back outside of the glowing pile of moss where he first entered the hidden treasure cave.
However this time when he attempted to look behind the moss at the entrance, the opening in the cave wall was gone and replaced by the same dull stone as the rest of the cave.
’At least the system seems to prevent any idiots from wandering in while the cave disappears. Who knows where they would end up or what would happen to someone who foolishly sticks around...’
Lumen was once again in the monotonous and dull looking caves as he maneuvered his way through the narrow caves. It had been nearly a week since he had entered the treasure cave and over 2 weeks since he had been forced into the challenge dungeon.
He was extremely happy to finally have a new weapon, and one that seemed so much more powerful as well. His old tutorial spear was redundant now and he didn’t doubt that his combat power had doubled just from the addition of his new Arcane Spear!
The winding narrow cave only took him a few minutes to navigate out of with the glowing moss barely lighting the way ahead for him.
He had seen enough of the traps and trials over the last week to develop a slight fear of hidden traps and subconsciously kept an eye out for any traps or hidden elements in the cave even though he knew there wasn’t any.
Ever since he was teleported out he kept his spear tightly in his grip as he felt himself become slightly restless at the fact that he hadn’t found any wolves or any beast in general to fight. He hadn’t fought anything for a whole week after just becoming accustomed to it.
Every so often he would think about how the other three were faring in the outside tutorial. He felt worried for them having to traverse the dangerous forest filled with higher level beasts and humans only as a group of three. Especially since he, their strongest member, had disappeared on them.
He hoped they would still be alive by the time he managed to get out of the dungeon. He had considered many times whether it would be better for him to just exit the dungeon early due to his doubts about him actually being able to handle the higher level beasts, especially the Elites and the Boss of the dungeon.
But when he remembered the amount of experience and fighting experience he had received so far from this dungeon, as well as the potential rewards if he managed to clear the whole dungeon, he threw away his ideas of attempting to leave.
Even if he wanted to leave though, he had no idea how he would go about it as the only two exit conditions the system spoke of when he entered was defeating the boss of the place or simply waiting for the timer to reach 0, which meant that he would basically be sitting there wasting his time for the remainder of the tutorial.
He couldn’t accept such a boring way to beat the dungeon and so he only really had one choice, to kill the boss.
Lumen’s current level was 13 and while he had stagnated over the last week due to the treasure trials, he had no doubt that his rapid levelling would soon resume as he spotted a pack of level 12 wolves ahead of him, patrolling their area.
His perception was his second lowest stat by quite a margin but even at that it was still average for his level compared to his other stats. His five senses were heightened by the stat, allowing him to have slight night vision at the point as well as very sensitive eyes for spotting movements.
This almost allowed him to have a very dimmed down version of Qu Quan’s talent!
While looking at the pack of wolves over 100 metres ahead, he couldn’t help but take a deep breath as he looked around the group and took in everything they were doing with his perception. He had been confined without his weapons or anything to hunt for the last week in an environment unfamiliar to him, and now that he was back in the caves he almost strangely felt back at home.
A smile grew on his face as he counted the wolves. There were six of them.
He wantonly made his way over, not hiding his movements and even making exaggeratedly loud footsteps, basically announcing his presence to the wolves. His feelings could only be described as anticipation and child like freedom.
He had grown stronger in many ways, both mentally and physically. His most powerful addition being his spear yet he had no chance to test his new found weapon before he was teleported out of the treasure caves.
’Perhaps fate does exist’ He joked to himself as the wolves finally noticed him and started growling loudly at him, jumping at the opportunity to surround the new prey.
Despite their levels being only a level lower than his own, he maintained his confidence and smile. He felt not a shred of threat from them even though they outnumbered him six to one.
This meant that he, without hesitation started pouring mana into his spear until it had a bright blue aura surrounding it. This new aura was vastly different than that of his old Mana Reinforcement skill’s dim light as that was a much simpler activation of mana.
